The Ministry of Transportation Indonesia (MoT) and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) prepared the NAMA SUTRI Full Concept Document in cooperation with the GIZ TRANSfer project. The NAMA SUTRI Full Concept Document offers a comprehensive overview of the NAMA and presents information on the mitigation measures, MRV and financing.
How can climate finance be used to shift traditional transport financing to low-emission, sustainable transport? How can it be used to mobilize additional financing including from the private sector for low-emission, sustainable transport? And how could climate funds such as the Green Climate Fund be structured to make them work for sustainable transport? Due to the rapid economic development in recent years, China is experiencing substantial growth in vehicle population and motorisation, which has lead to a strong increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and air pollution. In order to reduce emissions and meet the carbon emission targets, city governments and decision makers are increasingly interested in understanding the effectiveness of transportation measures.
Today, TRANSfer publishes the 2014s edition of the Transport NAMA Report that is available for download here. The motto for this year’s Transport Day is “Transport Tackles Climate Change @ Transport Day 2014”.
The BtG/SLoCaT event will be part of COP20 on Sunday 7th December 2014 at Sheraton Hotel, Lima, Peru. International experts, the scientific community and Parties will demonstrate the potential contribution of land transport in climate change mitigation and adaptation. There, TRANSfer will hold a breakout session on NAMAs and MRV.
CODATU XVI conference, organised by CODATU in partnership with İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (İTÜ), will take place in Istanbul on February the 2nd to the 5th, 2015. The topic of the conference is: “Energy, climate and air quality challenges: the role of urban transport policies in developing countries and emerging economies”. The Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF) and the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) held the International Climate and Development Investment Forum 2014, on September 12th, 2014 at Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta.
The Forum invited 166 representatives of national and local government of Republic of Indonesia, policy makers and project planners from multilateral and bilateral donor and development agencies, as well as representatives of private sector / industry associations. Continue reading
